Easter and More Fun!

So, here it is about two and a half weeks later, and I'm finally taking some time to fill you all in on my Easter activities. As you can see above, Denver weather cooperated quite well for the big day. We had lots of sunshine and nice temperatures - God's blessings were evident in that as well as so many other things - Grandma likes to take advantage of good light and snapped a few shots of me and Daddy as well. Following that photo shoot, we headed to church where I felt like a princess in my pretty dress and shoes (thanks, Erin)!

After church we came home and started finding all these brightly colored eggs. I was intrigued and began leading Daddy around to each one I saw.

I was so excited that I forgot that I'm not completely capable of walking long distances and went for it anyway!

Later, when we ventured inside, I found my new chair. Can you believe that even it had eggs in as well as a basket which contained a bunny at one time.

I tell you what, I was beginning to tire of all this... I needed to rest my head on my comfy chair.

Once I changed into my "comfies," I was able to see if those eggs were all they were cracked up to be.

Both of my sets of Grandparents were able to celebrate Easter with us.

Everyday life:

Once the hoopla of the holiday was over, it was back to the normal grind. Here's how it goes:
Owen comes over and takes Mom's attention everyday (I'm getting more used to it) and then we all play.

This particular photo seems to insinuate that I've been caught doing something that I should feel guilty about... that's for me to know and you to speculate about!

Daddy had to go out of town for work last week. When he returned home, we spent some family time at the park near our house. Daddy helped me go down the slide - it was soo fun!

I went down the tube slide all by myself.

I already knew I loved to swing with Mom, but by myself is pretty fun too.

Well there you have it folks, another update from the Lyd-kid (as I'm commonly called).
I hope you're all doing well and keep looking for my updates... we're heading to New York city at the end of the week - we should have some pretty great stories to share about that!!

Walking!

Hello friends and family!

So I have been getting my legs under me lately and have started to walk. I am having lots of fun with walking as you can see in the video below.




There are so many other things that I need to get you all caught up on since it has once again been a while since I have last blogged.

One of my things to do these days is to sit in laundry baskets, toy boxes or boxes of any size.

I also enjoy getting up on Boscoe's perch by the front window and knocking on the window and watch what's going on in the world outside. Boscoe sometimes joins me while I take his spot for a little while.

Earlier this month I went down to Colorado Springs to visit my Grandma and Grandpa T. I always have a fun time there and am somewhat the center of attention.

My Mom has been watching a little boy named Owen for some friends of ours. He is a lot of fun and makes good use of my Bebe Pod that I use to use a lot. He is a real baby that I get to play with. How cool is that?

Having Owen around also means that I get to see some of my toys that I have not seen for a while. One such toy is my bouncy chair. I use this as a trampoline instead of a seat now that I'm a big girl.

My Aunt Julie was in Denver for a concert with her choir from school. After her concert she and her friend Kaylee came and stayed the night with us. We all had to get up early to have them to their bus by 7:15AM so that they could get to the next place on their tour. It was an early departure that I slept through. It was so much fun seeing my auntie Julie.

Now that the weather is getting nicer, aside from a spring blizzard here and there, I have been able to spend some time outside. I really like the outside with the wind in my hair and perhaps I will be walking around the yard instead of crawling in the next month or so.

2010 - A busy year so far

Hey everyone,
Can you believe that we've already been through a month of 2010? I've been keeping very busy in this new year.
Let me tell you about it. I'll go from most recent to longer ago.
Mom and I have been trying to recover from a most exciting weekend. The whole family spent yesterday going to church and then entertaining friends at our house for a Super Bowl party and birthday party for my mom - she turned 29... again!
On Saturday we went to Longmont to have a babies (that's right, there are two of them) shower for our friends Dave and Lori and their little boys, Eli and Eddie. Eli and Eddie are still in the hospital, but are doing very well, so we wanted to make sure that their parents have all the essentials for when the boys get to come home.
Friday was Mom's actual birthday and Dad took the day off work and we all went to the zoo! I had a great time looking at the animals, but I tell you what, I'm just as interested in watching the other kiddos as watching the animals. Then we went out for some dinner, got some groceries and then we all went to church for Mom and Dad's volleyball game (they play in a church league and I get to play with Zoe and Koen while they play).
Two weeks ago, Mom's friend Val called and we set up a play date (for Mom and Val) at Copper Mountain for that night! We got there around 4:00pm on Monday, had some dinner, spent some time chatting, and after I went to bed, Mom and Val went in the hot tub for awhile. On Tuesday, we packed up and then went for a little snow shoe hike before having to head back home for my speech therapy appointment at 3:00pm. It was a quick trip, but I had a great time (although, I mostly slept while we were hiking).
Otherwise, everyday is made up of play time, walking practice, "Baby Signing Time" video and napping and the occasional visit from one of my therapists. I've really been working on the walking and it's been paying off - I can walk well with my walking toys and with only Mom and Dad's fingers to support me. I've started signing a few words like, banana, more, cracker, and baby just to name a few. I'm getting to be such a big girl!!

Daddy, I don't mean to alarm you, but I believe there are cheetah's right behind us!

See the monkey swinging around behind us, he was very energetic.

I got a little worn out after awhile at the zoo, but this nap didn't last long, there were more animals and people to see.

I made pretty good friends with the komodo dragon once we established some ground rules, that he shouldn't eat me even though he could.

Here you can see my eczema and Mom just thought this was a cute photo.

The tiger was right up by the glass... those things are huge... his head was the size of my whole body (gross estimate, of course)!

Mommy has a big mouth, I think she was trying to roar like the lion behind us.

Adventures

Hello friends and family,

It is time to update you on some of our family's adventures. Yesterday I took my first trip to the aquarium. This was Dad's first trip to the downtown aquarium but Mom had been there already so she showed us around. I had so much fun looking at all of the fish and other animals that the aquarium houses. They even have tigers. The only one out was sleeping behind a big log so we did not get a good picture. Dad told me that I should get used to animals sleeping and hiding when it comes to things like this. I guess Boscoe sleeps a lot too so I understand.

On Saturday Dad went on a hike with my uncle Jason and his friends Darin and Josh. They were gone for a long time but Dad was happy with the fact that he could still climb a mountain. It had been a little while since he had gone but he needs to get into shape so that when it comes time to take me up to the mountains this summer he is all ready to try and keep up with me.

Arrival of my new friends!

Hello everyone,

I have some exciting news to pass on about two of my friends that just arrived early this week to the Crotser family. Dave and Lori emailed my parents some pictures so naturally I wanted to blog about it.

Here is what Dave emailed out:

Hello all! I am proud to announce that we have two little boys, Elijah Joel and Edward Charles! The boys were born on Tuesday, January 5th a little after 6:30pm.

They decided to show up early, so we're at the University of Colorado Hospital in Denver, Colorado. The University Hospital has one of the top NICU departments in the country, and both boys are in excellent hands. Lori is recovering well, and is in good spirits. The boys are active and stubborn, but we wouldn't expect anything less! Because they are a bit early, their breathing is being assisted by some oxygen tubes, seen in the pictures.

I've got my coat on so that I can meet my friends as soon as possible.
