28 Pictures

Hi friends,

Don't think I've forgotten about you, but life is busy. I go to bed every night around 7:30 and get up a little after 6 every morning so that I am ready for the bus when it comes at 6:40am. My parents complain that they don't get to spend much time with me during the week. We've been trying to make up for lost time by doing lots of my favorite things on the weekends (park visits, trips to Grandma and Grandpa's in Colorado Springs, watching movies and hanging out with friends, etc.).

It's also been fun getting to know my new sister... she's pretty funny and cute! When she cries, I just say, "Mommy. Carly hungry." Or "Mommy. Carly bubber (pacifier)."

Carly is going to get baptized in church on Sunday; I get to go in front of church with her and Mom and Dad. Depending on my mood that day, I will either have fun with that or I'll be really shy - guess we'll find out!

Since the last time I updated you all, I participated in my 6th Step Up for Down Syndrome Walk and we celebrated Halloween. I've added quite a few pictures of these events plus some others for your viewing pleasure:

Aww... What a honey my little Carly is!

We are pretty good friends!

Sweet girl.

Team Lil' Lydia 2013!
The family in attendance this year (l to r): Auntie Nesser aka Aunt Jenness, Grandpa Mustache, Grandma Mustache, Me, Daddy, Mommy, Carly, Grandpa Glasses, Uncle Jason, Grandma Glasses.
So great to see so many people supporting the Down Syndrome community!
Hanging out at Camp Lil' Lydia is a blast. I was teasing Daddy... I would steal his hat so that he would have to chase me - he hates to have hat hair!
Mommy made my team banners for year number two at the Step Up Walk - they are hanging in there pretty well. Maybe we'll get some professional signs one of these times.

I didn't mention it before, but Mom, Dad, Carly and I joined Grandma and Grandpa Mustache in Steamboat for a little vacation... Here I'm practicing for senior pictures.

One weekend Gma and Gpa Glasses visited.

Carly enjoyed wearing her ghost shirt for Halloween.

Mom carved me a Mike Wazowski pumpkin - I love "Monsters, Inc."
I was Annie again this year for Halloween. It's so fun to do photo shoots in the leaves!
Grandma and Carly sportin' their Broncos gear.
We went to the park in Colorado Springs with Grandma and Grandpa - it was chilly, but if there's a park involved, I can brave any element.

Hmmm... This slide requires some courage!

Grandpa, Daddy and I pose before heading down the triple slides.

Weeee!
Off to the Pumpkin Patch. So many pumpkins, so litte time!

Naw, that's not it... keep looking!

Leave some for everyone else!

I want these!

No Smashing Pumpkins Dad!! Mommy mostly likes the background of this picture.

Mom loves this pumpkin cause it still has the vine - this would later become Mike Wazowski.

The pigs liked to eat pumpkins!

What fun watching the animals at the pumpkin patch.
Hope you were entertained with the pictures.

Hope you're having a happy Fall. I guess soon it will be Christmas - hard to believe!

Love you all and thank for hanging in there with me and my blog! Lydia

Been busy!

Hello friends and family,

So here are the quick highlights since my last post. My little sister Carly is 6 weeks old, I finished my first week of Kindergarten, and a couple weeks ago we went on a short vacation to the mountains.

So I have long, but very fun days going to Kindergarten. I am in an awesome program at Vivian Elementary. It is a bit of a haul to get there and I take the bus. My first week went very well. My teacher says that I am starting to get the swing of the routine. Mom and Dad were a bit stressed out this week and worried about me but I did fine and am really going to like all day school.

A couple weeks ago Mom and Dad decided that they wanted to do a short get-away so we went up to Granby for two days. It was really fun and the weather was great. I got a lot of park time in Winterpark, Granby and Grand Lake. Carly did great in the car and we all had a really fun time.

I really like being a big sister and being a big girl away from home during the days. Now for the part that I know you all really enjoy, the pictures.

Carly is starting to smile back at us a lot. Fun!

Up at Grand Lake just a little drive from Granby. I love throwing rocks in the water.

The girls. Carly is in the carrier, probably sleeping.

A moose walked right through town in Grand Lake by the local park after we had dinner. I wanted to keep playing but after Dad took the picture we moved away.

Our timeshare was located right in the middle of Grand Elk golf course. This made my dad happy. He got out for an early round of nine. You will have to open this picture to see my dad walking down the 9th fairway. He has a blue shirt and a white hat. He had a fun time and the weather was just perfect.

This is Carly watching Dad. Maybe she and I can join Dad one day and golf with him.

Me and my sis.

First day of school! I am ready for this.

Got right on the bus with no hesitation. I love the bus.

Coming home after the first day. Dad came home early to see me off the bus. He is so funny.

I am so glad to see Mom, Carly and Boscoe. I ran up the driveway to greet them and tell them all about my first day.

I hope that everyone is doing well.

I also wanted to remind everyone that our 6th anual Step up for Down Syndrome walk is less than a month away.

My baby sister is 1 week old

Hello everyone,

My little sister is 1 week old as of yesterday and I have had a fun week watching her and getting use to life with a baby in the house.

Dad gets to stay home and help for a little while so it has been very fun having him around. We have been doing some fun stuff in addition to my usual gymnastics class, school on Tuesday's and Thursday's and my speech therapy. Dad is starting to learn how busy I am during the weekdays.

Last weekend I got to have fun with friends while mom and Carly were in the hospital. I spent the morning on Saturday with Paul and Heather, that is after I went to the hospital to see my little sister and mom.

It's official, I'm the big sister!

I then spent the afternoon with my cousin Liv and her parents. We had a fun time at the zoo. Here is Liv with her new cousin Carly.

One last diaper change before I headed home with dad.

Sunday I spent the day with my pals Scott, Andrea and Jilli. On Sunday we had our friends the Crotser's come by to visit before we all got to go home.

We got home a little after 2PM on Sunday 7/14. Yeah for starting our new life as a family of four.

Dad took me to the pool and a picnic for the Arc on Wednesday. Did I mention that I enjoy having my dad home? Well, I do. Carly has had a good week as well. A nurse came by the house to see how she was doing and she seems to be great. She finally got her AM and PM going the right way later in the week. Mom and Dad told me that the first few nights were rough but I really did not notice and slept pretty well myself. Mom and Dad were worried that I would have a tough time adjusting to this but I have been doing great. I am starting to notice that I am not the most important thing around here anymore. We'll see how that goes in the coming months.

My grandma and grandpa "E" came for a visit on Thursday afternoon. On Friday Carly ventured out back on the porch as it was a very nice day. I like to kiss my kid sister a lot.

I showed grandpa my cool tee ball stand and how I can hit the ball.

We had cupcakes that Shelley brought for us as a way to celebrate Carly's week birthday.

Mom and Dad remind me that we had a lot of cake celebrations when I was just a baby. I think it is fun to celebrate these kind of little but big occasions.

Keep your eye on my blog for more updates about the rest of our summer.

Love you,
Lydia

I'm a big sister!

Today my parents and I welcomed my little sister Carly Marie to the world.

So it is official, I am a big sister and I am very happy about this. At least for now. Some have said that I may get a bit jealous with the attention being pulled away from me. I guess we will hvae to see what time will tell.

As a big sister I see it only right that I share my blog with her.

Carly Marie was born today Friday 7/12/13 at 2:11PM. She weighed 7 lbs and was 20" long. I cannot get over how cute she is. Mommy is doing well after the c-section and I am so proud of her and what she went through to bring my sister out to play.

Here are some pictures of my new best friend.

Mom and Carly getting some rest and fluids.

 I get to meet Carly!
I spent the day with my pals Koen and Derek. They got to meet my little sister.

Keep your eyes out for more posts from me about me and Carly.

Love,
Lydia
