Friday AM in Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU). Check out my sweet zipper, I bet you wish you had one too.
Thursday PM in the CICU with Mom comforting me.
More comforting from Mom in my big girl crib. I needed more comforting because getting off of the ventilator tube was very traumatic.
Hey all,
I'm still not that "with it" but I'll try to get you all up to speed on what's going on with me.
So things seems to be progressing nicely for me... when the Dr's and Nurses look me over, they usually smile at me - I'm not terribly impressed with them (considering the circumstances) - so I don't grace them with my illuminous smile.
Today, my goals are to get my drainage tubes taken out from my chest and to eat more of mom's breastmilk and to be able to have Mom and Dad hold me. They also want to try to get me off of the supplemental oxygen, but that may take a little while.
Thanks for keeping up on my progress and for continued prayers for a healthy and speedy recovery.

Oh lil' Lydia you are a blessing! God is working in and through you. That cool scar will be a mark of remembrance of His healing work in you. One day, we'll have to introduce you to our friend, Kate. She is 3 years old now and she had a similar surgery on her heart this summer and has the same scar as you! We know a song, from way back at summer camp, that we sang for baby Kate when she had her surgery, and we want to sing it to you. (You'll just have to imagine the tune and our beautiful voices until we see you again and can sing it!!) :)
Jesus, you are the heart of me
You bled and suffered for our sins
You died so I can live
You rose so I can rise
You are the heart of me
MY HEART IS IN YOUR HANDS.....
We love you Lydia, give your mommy and daddy big hugs for us, too.

Hey Lydia! You look really good already...I wish I was there to give you a kiss...I'll hold off on the hugs for a little while yet! When I talk to your mom and gr & gr they tell me you are doing really well, what an answer to all of our prayers. I hope your mom & dad get to hold you today, that would be awesome for all of you! Lots of love,
Uncle Barry, Aunt Joni, Ethan & Erin
I think I can comment for everyone with a BIG aw! Poor little peanut! I just wanted to cry for Lydia when I saw those photos. While it hurts to see Lydia like that, we praise God for wonderful surgeons and nurses to care for her. We pray that everything was a success and Lydia gets a chance to enjoy life at home again!
God bless Lydia's recovery!
Jennifer Mulder & family
You are looking pretty sweet there girlie! We are soooo relieved that surgery day is over. Now we pray that the road to recovery is a quick and trouble-free one. Mommy said it's not happening as fast as she would like it to...I'm sure you agree. We're praying for you, daddy and mommy to be calm and couragous as the healing process takes place. You have been a little 'toughy' all along, so I'm sure you are not going to let this keep you down too long! :)We'll pray that you get to eat soon and that whatever is going on with those 'nerve thingys' will be fixed. You hang in there lil' Lydia! We love you so much,
Uncle Andrew, Auntie Jenness, Marty, Michael, Maxwell, Maegann, and Maddalie
